ABOUT US: In July 2002 Dogwood Training Academy updated its name to ADOG - Atlanta's Dogwood Obedience Group when it was purchased by Kate Hartsfield, Michelle Petit and Sharon and Joe Willis.  They will continue the Dogwood tradition and high standards set by the founder of Dogwood Training Academy, Nancy Patton, with the help of their excellent instructors and volunteers.  They welcome your comments and suggestions via the Feedback form, e-mail ADOG,  telephone 770-986-8317 or mail to ADOG, 4729 Old Highgate Entry, Stone Mountain, GA 30083.

Our instructors have dog-training experience ranging from five years to over thirty years with many different breeds.  They not only compete in the sport of obedience, but also agility, tracking, conformation, hunting, rally and herding.

Their accomplishments include:

  • Training and instructing in all levels of obedience for various breeds since 1970.

  • Ranking in the top ten in the United States Dog Obedience and American Kennel Club Championships with Golden Retrievers, Puli, Shetland Sheepdogs, Australian Shepherds, Border Collies, Labrador Retrievers, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Poodles and other breeds.

  • Achieving numerous obedience titles, awards, and multiple tournament placements in national competition.

Nancy Patton, who trained and instructed in all levels of obedience for over thirty years, founded Dogwood.  After her death, former instructors, students and friends banded together to set up a scholarship at the University of Georgia in her name.  To make a tax-deductible contribution go to the Nancy Patton Memorial Scholarship page.
